Sailing on a classic schooner like Ellida is becoming a very rare opportunity for many people.
Becoming part of history by sailing and cruising in safety and comfort on board the beautiful and historic wooden schooner Ellida. This wonderful windjammer comfortably sleeps ten passengers plus crew in five guest staterooms.
In the Castine Classic Yacht Race, Schooner Ellida is tacking toward the finish line off Curtis Island, Camden.
Last evening Barbie and I went for a sunset cruise aboard the Ellida on Tampa Bay offshore from St. Petersburg. We both had a wonderful time.
While in Florida the Ellida berths at the Dolphin docks near the St. Petersburg Pier.

At last Capt. Ken takes the helm as we sail off into the sunset.

UPDATE: Captain Pete Peterson crewed on the Ellida for many years and has shared the link to his web site for more pictures of the Ellida at www.captainpete48.com/mainetonovascotia.htmwww.captainpete48.com/mainetonovascotia.htm

Do you happen to have that first picture in higher resolution? My wife and I were married on the Ellida in 2000.
No, I'm sorry I don't. The first 4 pictures were from an old web site that is no longer up.
I crewed on Ellida many years ago taking her from Maine across to Nova Scotia. She had recently been bought by a new owner and we were taking her to Buffalo, NY. The trip was progressing very slowly and after a month I left. I lost track of her after that. There are many photos on my web site www.captainpete48.com.
Hi, just curious if this is the John Alden Elida once or originally owned by Harry Shattuck of Boston? He was my Great Uncle. If it is and there is any information or photos you might be able to share I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks. Best email for me BTW is lmlpeabody@comcast.net
My father crewed on her in 1950's, when the Balards owned it. Named after her...My middle name, my daughters and my Granddaughters middle name. Would love to sail someday on her. Sad to see her not on the water.
